Champaign County is about 38,000 people spread across roughly 430 square miles of largely agricultural land, with Urbana as the county seat. The communities run from St. Paris and Mechanicsburg to North Lewisburg, Mutual, Christiansburg, and Catawba — each with its own character, but all tied together by farming. This is corn and soybean country, with cattle and hog operations worked into the mix and the Mad River running through it.
